Angry Birds!

What kind of a card do you make for a teenage boy turning 18? Angry Birds, of course. I cased and combined ideas for this card from a few different people who posted on SCS and Stampin' Connection. The bird and sling shot is made from punches. The sky is Marina Mist ink sponged around a scallop circle to make clouds.

Baker's Twine is used on the card and also to accent the envelope. If you look very closely, you can see that I drew in lines on the post to give it a wood grain look, complete with a few knots. If I had the woodgrain stamp I would have used that. (it's on my wish list!)

I'm really liking this card, I think I may have to make a few more of these!

The Stamping Stampede's Card Exchanges!

Here are the cards that members of the Stamping Stampede made to exchange last month. The theme was "A Birthday Card".

I have to apologize for the blurry, poor photos again - it's me or the camera!

This FAB card was made by Rhea. She used the new Flower Garden embossing folder and then selectively sponged the outline to give it color. The butterflies are a great touch too! I haven't seen this embossing folder used with the butterflies so I think this is an original!

Stephanie made this COOL distressed flower card. Lots of details on this one! She splattered ink on the base, sponged the top layer, and then flower itself. Great color combo too.

Sharon was the creator of this super CUTE frog! It even has warts! Punches make anything possible - gotta love 'em!

Our newest member, Crissy, made the flower and stripe card. She even made a matching envelope. What a GREAT card, I think she's a pro already!

LaReatha made the butterfly button card. Look closely, she has a lot of buttons on this one that makes it so EYE CATCHING! Plus the rounded corners and the embossing folder textured edge really dress it up.

This card was made by Jess. The ornament punch is used for the flower vase - a simple and very ELEGANT card! I can see a set of these with different greetings put together for a nice gift.

Ice Cream Parlor

You have to have ice cream in the summertime! This card was made using the Pennant Parade stamp set and the matching pennant punch. The cones were stamped and punched and the ice cream scoop is made from the scallop oval punch cut in half. The base is textured with the square lattice embossing folder.

The part that looks tricky but really isn't, is the parlor awning. It's a separate piece of white card stock folded twice, once at the top and then again down towards the bottom. The scallop border punch is used for the edge of the white cardstock 'awning'. The pink stripe is created with the word window punch. Each word window is placed on every other white scallop.

Instead of a card, I decided to make a gift bag with the ice cream parlor front. The brown bag just folds down in the back. Perfect for a birthday gift!

Here is part of what the Stamping Stampede will be making next week for Stamp Club.

This is a set of 3x3 cards made with the the Recess set from the Summer Mini. I got the idea from Kirsteen Gill from the Stampin' Up! demo site. I personalized it some and added the background stamp to step-it up a little.

These images are soooo cute! There's a little girl with a hula hoop, a boy with a jump rope and another one with a swing. There's also a girl sliding down a slide.

I will post more pix of the other projects as I get them finished.

Club Members' June Project Exchange

Here are some project exchange cards that members of the Stamping Stampede made last month. I know better than to wait this long to post them, but I didn't get it done right away and now I can't remember who made a couple of the cards!! If you can help me out with who made what leave me a message here.

Our theme was a "Two-fer", make two cards to exchange instead of just one.


I think that Rhea made these two small cupcake cards. I really like the background circle of DSP, shows that a small detail can make a big impact. Cute!


These I believe Sharon made with the same cupcake punch. Again, the DSP strip in the background makes these cards really cute!

Stephanie made these cards with the new Four Frames stamp set from Stampin' Up! She also made matching magnets for everyone - they were really cute - just like the frames on the cards.

I'm thinking that LaReatha made these two fun cards with flowers. Both have a 3-D flower that made these cards 'pop'.

These two baby cards were made by Kalie, one for a girl and one for a boy. We didn't know that she would make an announcement later that evening that she and her husband are expecting their second child! How exciting! Congrats Kalie!!

Butterfly Easels!

These butterflies are fluttering all over Splitcoast Stampers and related blogs lately! I made a whole plate of them!

They are pretty easy - just cut a large butterfly on the fold for the easel using the butterfly die cut for the Big Shot. Then attach the two butterflies in the front and you are done!
