Wedded Bliss

Hi stampers!  It's been whirlwind of a summer and now it's time to settle into our fall schedule!
I'm long overdue in posting so I better get right to it:   I want to post a couple of cards I made for Jess, one of our stamp club members who got married recently.

 

This is a retired stamp set but I love the silhouette profiles for different occasions.  This is one of those sets that I won't part with; retired or not.    The colors used are Tempting Turquoise (their official wedding color) and Basic Black.

 

I thought it would be fun to add a 'real' netting veil to this image and use some pearls to finish off the headpiece.  The bride's bouquet is a small flower made from the 'Itty Bitty' punch set, layered and scrunched.  The layered outline was created using the Labels Collection framelits for the Big Shot.

So that was the card I gave Jess for her bridal shower and below is the wedding card I gave the happy couple on their wedding day.

 

 Again, the colors were Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black.  I had some inspiration from other card creaters for this basic layout but changed a few details.  The black 'suit' is a full layer on the Tempting Turquoise layer with a v-shaped lapel cut out and a bow tie and buttons added.  The wedding dress is layered on top and finished with rows of pears.  I added another layered and scrunched flower for the groom's boutenier.   

If you look closely, the top and bottom of the dress is embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  Also, there is a rhinestone in the ring of the word 'do' like a wedding ring.

Back at it!

It's been a long time since I've posted!!  Wow - have the last 2 months flown by.  Our Stamp Club had a little hiatus to catch up on 'life' and now I need to update my blog too! 

Here is a card I made for our secretary at work who retired after 40 years!  I used Daffodil Delight and the butterfly punch from Stampin' Up! along with the matching seam binding for a bow on top.  The embossing folder used was Elegant Lines and the sentiment was from the 'Your a Gem" stamp set. 

 I gave her a card and a cute yellow daisy-like flower. We are going to miss her!!  She has some big shoes to fill at work!

  Here's a graduation card I made for my nephew. It's always more challening to make cards for guys, it seems, but this fit the bill for a more masculine card.

 And don't forget the matching envelope!

Petite Purse Set

 I love these new little purses!  They are made with the Petite Purse die cut for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!  This one is Daffodil Delight Cardstock with the Summer Smooches DSP on the flap. 

One thing I think I'm going to change next time tho, is to put a bigger flower on the flap of the purse. This one does look bigger in real life than this photo but still could be larger.

This little card is the cutest thing ever ( I think anyway : )  I CASED the idea from someone on the Stampin' Up! website that used the oval frame and little flower center on a matchbox.  I thought I would try this idea on a little 3x3 card.

I just ran it through the Big Shot with the oval frame embossing folder and stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock. Then I punched it out with the large oval punch and centered it in the embossed frame.  Worked really slick!  Thanks to all those creative people out there who think of these fabulous ideas!! : )

Notice the matching envelope?  It's made from a 5x5 square of DSP and the new diagonal plate for the Simply Scored scoring tool.  Very easy to do.

The tag was made with the jewelry tag punch.  I just cut a long strip and put one end of it in the front of the punch while leaving the other end out.  This way it can be as long as you want it to be!

I made birds for each plate made from the bird die cut for the Big Shot.

I got the idea for this centerpiece from Pinterest.  I wanted a bigger outside vase

for the jellybeans but made due with this smaller one.  Still pretty fun!

March Exchange Projects

This cool flower card was made by Rhea.  The flower layers are shaped with a bone folder - look closely at the middle.  See the cute butterfly from Sale-a-Bration?  Love it!

Love this dragonfly!  Shiney and classy - this card was made by Crissy.

Sharon made this very pretty card with the polka dots embossing folder and then

 used chalk on the flower to highlight it.  Lots of Texture!

This 'Friends' card was made by Crissy and has a lot of bling to it - see the centers of each flower?  Cute, cute!!

Yummy!!!!  The cupcakes that Kalie served at Stamp Club were too GORGEOUS to eat!  

Check out the shaved chocolate on top - they were little works of art!!

Vintage Gift Bag

Here is a little gift bag that I made for one of my Club gals for her Birthday.  I used a white lunch bag, and ran it through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines embossing folder.   

Dimentionals were used to line up the distressed flowers and I added a sentiment at the top with the mini clothespin. 

I used a decorative scissors to cut the top of the bag.  I tried to use the scalloped punch but the bag was too thin and it just kind of ate it up.  Next time I will try putting a piece of cardstock underneath to line it while punching.

                                        

A couple of pearls were added too!  Did you notice the pearls on the clothespin?

Side view - keep the bag folded when you run it through the Big Shot with the embossing folder and the sides will be embossed too.   Pretty easy project!

Easter Lefse!

Getting ready for Easter.  My parents, one of my brothers, and I usually get together a week or two before Thanksgiving to make Lefse for the holidays.  My son Ben and I decided we needed lefse for Easter too! 

Ben was a fabulous helper and rolled and fried lefse right along side me. I even had left to go throw a load of laundry in and when I came back up - he had already finished 2 from start to finish!!
