Wow! it's been a long time since I've posted. No excuses - just a busy spring.

I hosted Easter Dinner at our house and here are the table decorations I made with the little chicks I posted earlier. This pix is of them under the Easter 'Tree' but when I set the table, each person had a chick and egg filled with goodies. They didn't look quite so 'cutsy' when the table was set but.....I forgot to take a picture of it!

They were pretty easy to make. I just used a dimentional to attach the chicks to the egg filled with candy and put it in the grass holder.

The holder is just a strip of green cardstock. I snipped all the way around almost to the bottom and then attached the 2 ends.

Club Projects

I LOVE these colors together - Not Quite Navy and Pear Pizzazz! This card features the Plane and Simple stamp set.

The next card uses the Sew Suite stamp set. I had to make a card using this just to do the paper piecing for the dress form. The flower and pearl really draw your eyes to the center.

Here's some spring flowers to perk everyone up! These colorful cuties are made from the Fun Flowers die cut for the Big Shot and Poppy Parade and Marigold cardstock. After the flowers were cut out, I ran them through the Big Shot again with an embossing folder for some texture. Just pop one of these in your pencil cup to brighten your day!

Our Stamp Club meets this Sunday and these are the three projects we will be creating.

Peep - Peep - Peep!!

How about a few cute chicks for Easter? These long-legged leghorns are goofy looking but so fun! I used the 1 3/6" circle punch, scallop circle and the Boho blossoms flower punch for the orange comb on their head. Oh, I also used the polka dot embossing folder to give the body a little texture.

This little hatchling was born 'peeping'. Stampin'Pretty's Blog featured these chicks a while back and I had to make a few just for fun.

A Couple New Projects

I got some time today to just stamp for fun! No deadlines or holiday or birthday that I had to quick make something for, just time to stamp whatever I wanted. So I went downstairs and put together a couple of projects that I have been thinking about for a while.

This is a necklace made from Stampin' Up!'s beveled windowpanes. I just used designer paper and cardstock to make the backing, stamped a couple of images, and ran ribbon through the side slots. I attached a loop at the top and then threaded another ribbon through the loop for the necklace part.

This is my first attempt at these and I already have a few ideas on how to change things to make it even easier next time.

A close up of the top loop. The long ribbon part can be taken out and a chain could be used instead. Possibilities.....

Next up - a mini scrapbook.

This scrapbook is made with DSP and So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, and Real Red cardstock. The flower on the belly band was cut out using the new flowers bigz die from the Occasions Mini catalog. I like the new and different shape of it!

The belly band slips off and then you can unfold it.

Once unfolded, three 'doors' open up on the inside. I lined it alternating with Turquoise and Red cardstock with a saying on each.

Once I choose the photos for this, I will determine the background for the middle sections. Right now I just put in the photo corners. I hope to accomplish this soon with photos of my 2 sons and then post the completed product. On the front belly band, you may have noticed the number '2' and then a picture of a deer. I chose that image for my '2 deers' : )

March Club

Great picture of LaReatha, Pam and Stephanie! They were taking a break after making all those Easter/Spring cards and carrot treats. LaReatha gets the prize for the hardest worker - she cut and embossed all the Big Shot pieces for the carrots!

We did something different this time. After making cards for the Benefit for Kalie's great uncle, they decided to make the Club projects the same way, assembly-line style. So instead of everyone making their own project from start to finish, everyone did multiples of the same part. It went pretty quick!

A close up of the carrot treats. They are made with one piece from the petal cone die cut and various punches for the bunnies. The carrot top is made from the scallop circle punch and then cut to look like 'greens'. Of course, I got the idea from someone's blog - thank you to everyone who posts their wonderful ideas so that we can make them too!

For our project exchange some Club members donated a set of cards to be put together in a basket for the benefit. This set was made with a card kit from the Stampin' Up catalog by LaReatha.

This set was made by Rhea. I like this color combo!

These were made by the other 'Amy'. Does the butterfly design look familiar? We made it at Club a few months back. Fun set to color in!

Thanks to all who donated card sets to this cause. Hopefully, people bid big bucks in the silent auction for these creations!

Basket for Benefit

This is a basket (really a tin) with items in it for a benefit for a relative of one of my club members. He has cancer and his benefit is coming up in April. The family is putting together items to bid on and our Club is going to be working on this one.

Everything is ready except the cards and envelopes. At Club tomorrow night, we are going to create the 8 cards and envelopes assembly-line style. This is the card I posted previously with the stamp set Nature Walk and Baja Breeze cardstock.

The items included are a folder with 8 cards and envelopes, a candle, mini note book, and a bookmark.

Here's the folder that holds the cards. I used the newspaper print DSP on this. I think I'm going to be using that DSP on a lot more projects, you can do so much with it! Here I just sponged the edges and stamped the same images on it as the main items. Makes it look like it came that way!

Here's the inside of the folder. I CASED this folder idea from SplitCoast although all the stamping and accessories are of my own design. Sorry - I don't have the name to give them proper credit.

This is the front and back of the of the folder. It's made with just a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock and a ribbon that is threaded through to hold the cards inside.

The candle and base. I just stamped the images on tissue paper, cut it out and used the heat gun to apply it to the candle. The base is the scallop circle die cut for the Big Shot. I ran it through an embossing folder (forgot the name of it) and then inked the raised design with Early Espresso ink.

Bookmark and mini notebook. This is the first time I've taken the spiral 'thingy' off of a notebook and then covered the top and punched holes in the new layer. It was very simple. The bookmark was cut from the 2 tags die cut for the Big Shot.

This is another folder I made in Baja Breeze cardstock. Same thing but different colors.

Nature Walk All Occasion Card

There are so many great projects out there that use the Nature Walk stamp set. It is very versatile with all the pieces but just one image alone could be the focus of a project. With the card below, I used every image in the set!


I used Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla cardstock with Early Espresso ink. The tulip embossing folder makes the frame for the card. The edges are sponged in Early Espresso and then I also spritzed the main images with Baja Breeze and Early Espresso to give it a vintage feel.
